VAF (Veronica Araba Fynn) Brain Tumour Foundation was formed
following the death of our mother Veronica Araba Fynn also
known as Veronica Sarpong-Duah. She battled with brain tumour
for nearly a year but sadly, passed away on 12th September 2016.
We needed both physical and emotional support during her illness
and even more after her death but unfortunately there was none available to us.
It is too late for our family but certainly not late for other
families who may be going through similar situations. We know
how challenging it is for patients to live with the disease and
the effects it has on their families.
VAF Brain Tumour Foundation was formed to support patients live
a healthier, longer life and a sound mind with the hope of a brighter
tomorrow. According to the Cancer Research UK, 10981 new cases
of brain tumour were reported in 2014 and nearly half of these
lost their lives with a survival rate of only 14%. There are
therefore numerous families losing their loved ones to brain
tumour due to lack of support. More than half of these losses
could have been prevented.
We will be supporting the physical and emotional needs of both
the patients and their families in the UK, Africa and the rest of the world.
