PLAY POWER

WE LEARN THROUGH PLAY !
According to the UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD, Article 31,
‘Every child has the right to relax, PLAY and join in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities’

As children, play helps us to

Improve and maintain our physical and mental health.
Increase our self-awareness, self-esteem and self-respect.
Gives us the opportunity to mix with other children and build relationships.
Builds our resilience through risk taking, challenges, problem solving and helps us deal with novel situations.
Increases our confidence through our development of new skills.
Provides opportunities for us to understand, explore and learn about our environment, our wider community and our world.
Offers us opportunities to play with children of all abilities and backgrounds.
Enables us to resolve our conflicts and live at peace with each other.
Provides opportunities for us to develop our social skills and learning.
Promotes our imagination, independence, our creativity and much more.
